The Pennsylvania State University School of Theatre invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Voice for its nationally renowned BFA Musical Theatre program beginning fall 2025. We seek a dynamic and accomplished artist-teacher with a strong commitment to excellence in musical theatre vocal performance, pedagogy, and scholarship. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to use and apply inclusive practices in educating diverse student bodies by providing voice training for the musical theatre artist, maintaining an active research and creative agenda, while contributing to the intellectual and artistic life of the school through teaching, performance, and service.

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIRED SKILLS

* Professional experience in teaching musical theatre singing.

* Terminal degree or professional equivalent.

* Demonstrated excellence in teaching all styles of musical theatre including pop, rock, country, and rap/spoken word.

* Piano skills appropriate to the private voice studio environment.

* Evidence of effective teaching at the college or university level, including curriculum development, inclusive practices in educating diverse student bodies, and working with a diverse faculty and staff.

* Evidence of working collectively to cultivate a culture that supports success and enables all members of the community to thrive.

* A well-defined and promising research/creative agenda with the potential for national and/or international recognition and grant funding.

* Passion for remaining current in the field regarding evolving styles.

* Comprehensive knowledge of the musical theatre repertoire.
