McLennan Community College is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor, Music/Choral (Tenure Eligible).
This is an instructional position with a 15-hour teaching load per semester. Duties include conducting the College Chorale and other ensemble(s) depending upon qualifications and department needs, academic advising, recruiting vocal students in close collaboration with the applied voice teachers and Opera Program, and teaching other courses in the department based on the candidate’s education and experience. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, promoting and supporting the department's mission and goals, leading extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development activities, and working across departments to develop student communication and problem-solving skills. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face-to-face and non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses. This position reports to the Division Chair, Visual & Performing Arts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with 18 graduate hours in Music
Experience: Evidence of conducting and teaching experience at the college/university and/or high school level
