The School of Music in the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Voice to begin September 1, 2025.
Faculty Qualifications
* An earned doctorate in vocal performance or a closely related field is required before the position’s start date.
* Evidence of professional performance experience and professional activity and/or a research profile that demonstrates the ability to emerge as a leader in the field of Vocal Performance.
* Evidence of successful teaching of applied voice.
* A comprehensive understanding of current research in vocal pedagogy and vocal literature
* Demonstrated experience teaching a variety of voice-related classroom subjects, including Singer’s Diction, Vocal Repertoire, and Vocal Pedagogy. Graduate assistantships can count toward this experience if the student was Instructor of Record.
* Ability to recruit and retain a studio of undergraduate and graduate students.
* Ability to perform service duties including, but not limited to, recruiting, curricular review, programmatic assessment, and committee membership.
