Hastings College

The Department of Music and Theatre at Hastings College welcomes applications for a tenure-track professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities - to start in fall 2025. The position is open rank with the potential for department leadership - commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will direct the Hastings College Choir, teach applied voice and courses in the candidate’s area of specialty, including but not limited to diction and vocal pedagogy. There is an expectation to engage with area schools for clinics and recruitment. A masters degree in music or music education is required, but a terminal degree in Choral Conducting (or related field and experience) is preferred. Extensive professional performing experience as a singer is also favored.

Supplemental materials may include student reflections on teaching. The materials should also contain links to representative recordings of the candidate conducting a choir in rehearsal, and (optionally) singing in live performance.
