Univ of Central Oklahoma

The University of Central Oklahoma seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Voice (tenure track) to teach applied voice at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will excel at teaching applied voice in multiple styles, including classical and contemporary commercial technique with a special focus on musical theatre. The successful candidate will also recruit and retain students, support student research and creative activity, and contribute to a collaborative faculty. They may teach other courses depending on expertise including: Opera Workshop, Opera Production, Singing Diction, Art Song Literature and other voice-related courses as appropriate. It is preferred but not required that candidates will have a tenor singing voice.

Required Education and Experience:

* A doctoral degree in music. ABD may be considered.

* A strong background in vocal performance and pedagogy.

* Evidence of professional performing experience.

* A minimum of 3 years of college teaching experience, including evidence of teaching applied voice at the collegiate level.
