SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre announces auditions for the first musical of its 2025 summer season, Disney’s NEWSIES. It will be directed and choreographed by Brodee Ripple, with music direction by Christian Wawro. Kaylee Kress will serve as stage manager.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, March 18 or Wednesday, March 19 from 7:00-9:00pm at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. We are looking for strong dancers and vocalists with jazz and musical theatre experience. Performers with tumbling, acrobatics, or trick skills (flips, aerials, handsprings, etc.), athletic movers who can execute powerful jumps and dynamic choreography, and energetic performers ready to embody the spirit of the Newsies!

All roles are available. Both men and women will be considered for the roles of Newsies. Those interested in the role of Les ages 10-13 as well as auditioners ages 16 and older should prepare to sing 16 bars in the style of the show. An aux cord will be available – please have your music cued.
