Houston Grand Opera

The Houston Grand Opera Association announces adult chorus auditions for its 2025-26 season. Auditions will be held at the Wortham Theater Center on:

May 5, 2025 – 6pm – 10pm

May 6, 2025 – 6pm – 10pm

May 10, 2025 – 10am – 6pm

The Houston Grand Opera Chorus is a professional group of diverse persons of all professions and backgrounds.

Choristers rehearse weekday evenings and weekends for each repertory period. In the 2025-26 season, a new chorister could earn approximately $2,500.00 per production.

Auditions should include two arias of contrasting style, tempo, in original language, and by memory. Operatic repertoire is preferred, but standard oratorio selections will be accepted. Sight reading may be requested. Singers are required to bring their own sheet music in the correct key. HGO will provide a pianist. Candidates may be asked

to sing only one aria.
