Praised as a singer of “exquisite clarity” and “virtuosity,” lyric soprano Misook Yun
has performed with companies including Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, Salem Chamber Orchestra, Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Fort Collins, Rogue Opera, Opera Western Reserve, Bayshore Lyric Opera, Valley Lyric Opera, Opera Circle, and Eugene Opera. Her operatic roles include Mimi, Cio Cio San, Nedda, Tosca, Santuzza, Micaela, Adina, High Priestess (Aida), and Violetta, and solos include Chants d'Auvergne, Elijah, Faure’s Requiem, Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, Schubert Mass in G, Mozart’s Requiem, The Creation, Four Last Songs (Strauss), Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Carmina Burana, 9th Symphony (Beethoven), and Messiah. She was a NATS intern in 2004, and participated OperaWorks’s Artist Teacher Training programs in 2016. Dr. Yun has been a part of faculty at Summer Music Study in Hungary program in Szeged, and currently teaches at Youngstown State University.
