Bio

Tenor Dmitri Anisimov was born in Russia. His father was an orchestra conductor and his mother a director of a cultural center. Both of them imparted to him an early love of music. He began piano studies in a music school at the age of six, later adding saxophone and voice. He studied voice and saxophone in Music College (Ulyanovsk, Russia); continued his voice study in Gnessin College (Moscow, Russia) and Moscow State Pedagogical University.

He joined the prestigious “Rosgvardia Academic Song and Dance Ensemble, formerly known as the MVD Ensemble” and “Sveshnikov State Academic Russian Choir,” with which he toured Europe and the USA. All the while, he continued his music studies at the Moscow Pedagogic University.

Dmitri refined his techniques taking private lessons with artistic director of the San Franciscom Merola Opera Program Sheri Greenawald, Folk Artist of USSR, soloist of Moscow Bolshoy Theather Alexandr Vedernikov. Dmitri also coachs with former Metropolitan Opera conductor William Vendice.

He has performed leading roles with many national and international opera companies.

He lives in San Francisco, Bay Area, where he continues to expand his operatic repertoire. His beautiful voice and sensitive musicality make him a singer in high demand.

He is very enthusiastic about to teach and pass on his skills to his students.
