Katya Roemer, Soprano, is an acclaimed and versatile artist who has performed numerous leading roles in opera, operetta and musical theatre as well as featured soloist in major concert works on the West Coast, New York, Spain and Italy. In addition, Ms. Roemer has created and performed her own cabaret and classical recital programs. A winner of many awards and prizes, Roemer took first place in the National Opera Association's vocal competition, and was first runner-up in the Metropolitan Opera Pacific Region auditions.

Ms. Roemer is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the SF Bay Area chapter of NATS. www.sfbacnats.org. She is an alumna of the Opera Works program under Ann Baltz and studied at the Wesley Balk Music Theatre Institute. She holds a BM from Indiana University and MM Degree from UT Austin. Katya teaches adults in a variety of styles from Opera, Operetta, Broadway, pop and rock. Her students have performed with Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, San Jose Lyric Theater, Peninsula Teen Opera, San Francisco and Oakland Symphony Choruses, Kitka Balkan ensemble, Rock Band Akira Xx and Mariachi bands.

Katya’s teaching is grounded in the “bel canto" tradition encompassing the knowledge and expertise gained by 35 plus years of studing, teaching and performing a wide variety of repertoire, styles and languages.
