Teacher

Dr. Barber has been a professional actor since 1991 and has been teaching voice since 1996. She teaches musical theatre and acting at Purdue University Fort Wayne where she is Head of Musical Theatre and Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre. She is well-versed in all styles of singing, and several dialects for the actor, holds a Doctor of Arts in Voice and a Master of Music degree in Opera/Music Theatre. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and is certified in Somatic Voicework (Levels 1, 2, 3). She has also been a professional actor, director and music director for over 25 years and has completed levels 1 and 2 of Estill voice training. Recent roles include The Witch in Into the Woods and Titania in Purcell's The Fairy Queen. She also sings with a Pirate Band.
