Martha Elliott has enjoyed a rich career of performing, teaching and writing. She has performed a wide variety of repertoire and styles including avant-garde contemporary music, opera, chamber music, jazz and baroque music with period instruments. Her first book, Singing in Style: A Guide to Vocal Performance Practices, published in 2006, has been widely used throughout the US, UK and Australia, and has been translated into Spanish. Her most recent book, So You Want to Sing Early Music, was highly praised in Early Music America Magazine. A graduate of Princeton University and Juilliard, Martha Elliott has been on the Performance Faculty at Princeton since 1985, teaching private lesson, masterclasses and performance courses in German Lieder, Baroque Performance Practice and Musical Theatre. She has presented masterclasses and workshops for many NATS events and at Universities throughout the country.
