Elizabeth Linnartz, soprano, has been teaching voice at Duke University since 2004 and also has a large private studio in Durham, NC. Linnartz has a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in vocal Pedagogy from UNCG School of Music, and a BA in music from Duke University. She has soloed in operas, oratorios, recitals, and concerts mostly in the Triangle area (where she raised her five children), but also in places as diverse as Cambridge, Finland, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Many former Linnartz students are teaching voice and/or singing opera around the US. Students prepping for graduate or undergraduate programs have ended up at top music schools, and high schoolers have been accepted at top summer voice programs. Linnartz teaches with a warm, technical approach tailored to the individual, and is happy to take beginners with music skills (instrument lessons or choir).
