Bio

Frank Daykin, author of the world famous Encyclopedia of French Art Song, is equally known as pianist, teacher, and writer. He is a board member of the Art Song Preservation Society, where his annual masterclasses are among the most popular events. He is a 22 year faculty member of the Chamber Music Conference of the East, one half of the renowned piano duo Alexander & Daykin, and pianist of the Ambrosia Trio. A graduate of Manhattan School of Music and the Académie Maurice Ravel in France, his specialty is French Art song 19th/20th c., and opera, but he is equally adept in German Lied and many other languages, as well as an authoritative stylistic coach for Baroque and Classical opera. He assistant taught with Thomas Grubb at MSM. As a non-musical note: he has had seven volumes of poetry published over the years.
