We love to sing.
We sing to inspire. We sing to entertain. And we sing because it makes us feel good. Here are a few responses from you on “Why We Sing”. Send me your thoughts at alex@auditionsplus.com and we’ll publish more in the coming weeks.
Kristen Baum:
I sing because for me it is the most effective way to feel deeply all those feelings locked inside for so long. I sing to heal, to feel, to communicate, to connect. I sing to share joy and comfort. I sing because the simple act of doing so helps me reach the most vulnerable place in me and share from that place. I sing because it touches my soul, and in doing that, it touches others, too.
Michelle Abad:
The reason why I perform is to take the audience out of their everyday lives and into the song that I am singing. I want the audience to forget every bad thing that happened that day and be enveloped in the music.
David Flowers:
Before there was God, people, and thinking, there was God, people and music – I sing because I am a creature that sings. “Why do you sing in Choirs Dave?” – “Because that’s the only place I get to MAKE those SOUNDS!!!”
Nancy Mitchell:
I sing because God gave me a voice that receives compliments when I sing. I mostly sing in our church choir, however during the summer when the choir is inactive, I still sing when in the congregation. Almost every weekend someone turns to me and says that I have a lovely voice and/or that I should join our choir. I sing because the kind comments are oftentimes what keeps me going. I sing because music is my passion.
