Dr. David Guzman has combined a career as a performer and an educator, with his research passion in Latin American music. As a recitalist, he dedicates his efforts to the revival and dissemination of forgotten Latin-American Art songs. He also has performed the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Brown University Orchestra, Carmina Burana with both the Minot Symphony Association and the Hartford Symphony, the Prince in Rossini’s La Cenerentola and the Duke in Verdi’s Rigoletto with Opera Tampa, Rafael in Foglia/Martinez's To Cross the Face of the Moon with Arizona Opera, as well as performances with Lyric Opera of San Diego, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera and at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris among others.
He holds a B.A. in Music Education from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional de Colombia, an M.M. in Voice Performance from Texas Christian University, and a D.M.A. in Voice Performance from SUNY at Stony Brook. Dr. Guzman has been an Assistant Professor of Music -Voice at Boston University since 2020.
