Interlochen Arts Academy is the premiere fine arts boarding high school offering grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year. Voice students will experience one-on-one private lessons, weekly studio classes, music theory classes, comprehensive choral experience, and two opera workshop productions each year. You will work closely with our experienced faculty, who will help you define and develop your future plans and goals. Interlochen Arts Academy is the top-rated boarding arts high school for young classical voice students. Sound vocal technique and appropriate literature that is voice appropriate to the individual singer is foundational to the program. We also teach voice specific elements, such as: mastery of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), a strong emphasis of text interpretation, and a thorough study of college audition skills.

Interlochen Arts Camp

From intensive one-week classes for high school students, to three week programs starting at 6th grade on up, students will explore the dynamic instrument of their own voice. Through voice and opera programs at Arts Camp, students will develop their unique sound and learn to approach every note with thoughtful expression. Experienced faculty will help students develop their technique through solo practice, small ensembles, and large choral experiences. When not in class, students will have numerous opportunities to enjoy student, faculty, and renowned guest artist presentations in a variety of art forms, plus all the fun of summer camp.
