Oberlin College and Conservatory offers the essential components of world-class musical training: An outstanding faculty of teacher-performers who remain accessible and committed mentors, exceptional facilities, a dynamic curriculum, regular exposure to resident and guest artists, and a vibrant cultural life. The widely celebrated qualities of an Oberlin vocal studies education are distinguished by a broad range of performing opportunities, unparalleled instruction in languages, and consistent access to vocal coaches, diction instructors, and acting and movement faculty. Singers participate in solo and ensemble experiences, and three annual fully undergraduate, fully staged opera productions. Oberlin’s seamless campus, shared with a preeminent liberal arts college, provides numerous opportunities to major and minor in related subjects or those further afield. A high percentage of students in Oberlin’s vocal studies division earn dual degrees (BM and BA), providing the widest possible postgraduate options. Oberlin students gain confidence, performance acumen, auditioning skills, and artistry across abroad range of repertoire.
