Garsington Opera Young Artist Program

Garsington Opera's Young Artist Programme is one of the most comprehensive in the industry.

Participants receive an unparalleled level of experience and support through the season and beyond. The young artists learn from the top practitioners about every aspect of being an opera singer in the 21st century. They receive world-class coaching through seminars, masterclasses and performance opportunities. They are chosen through a rigorous audition process aimed at finding the most promising young talent, and then supported in many different ways as they make their way through the profession. These opportunities are available to all young artists who perform at Garsington Opera each season.

We are making some changes to our normal recruitment process for our 2021 Chorus and Young Artist Programme. The safety of singers and our staff has been at the centre of our discussions so we will be heavily reducing the number of live auditions we will hold this autumn. In order to facilitate this, applications for our 2021 Chorus and Young Artist Programme will be by invitation only. If you are a current or recent post-graduate student at a major UK training institution, you will be hearing from your administrator soon if you haven’t already.

If you have not been invited to apply this year, please do not be too discouraged. We very much regret the necessity of this approach, and know that it means we will overlook several very talented singers. We look forward to returning to our normal practice in 2021 and hope you will apply to sing to us then.
