Barcelona Festival of Song

Celebrating its 20th year in 2024, the Barcelona Festival of Song is a summer program devoted to the study of the history and interpretation of Latin American and Iberian Art Songs in Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan. The course is open to voice students and teachers, collaborative pianists, and guitarists seeking to expand their repertoire. There is no age limit for the program. We customize a repertoire of 4 songs in Spanish, 4 in Catalan, and 4 in Portuguese for each participant, tailored to their voice type and level of development. We accept a maximum of 15 students each year, and all participants perform in two public concerts at beautiful venues in Barcelona. The classes cover the diction of the three languages and provide historical context for the repertoire and composers. Our goal is to equip participants with all the necessary information to champion the repertoire.
