Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre

Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre's Young Artist Program has been active since 2003. We offer education and paid performance opportunities to outstanding singers at the undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate level.

Members of the program understudy mainstage production roles, as well as perform in comprimario roles and as part of the opera chorus. Young Artists perform all roles in the company's annual elementary school outreach productions, and in a fully staged operetta/musical each summer.

In addition to working with renowned stage directors, and seasoned professional singers, Young Artists participate in master classes during their time in Cedar Rapids. They also frequently perform in promotional concerts and special events.
