Theater und Orchester Heidelberg

Each season the opera choir of the Heidelberg Theater and Orchestra works out five to six new productions and two to three revivals. He also organizes his own concerts and participates in large choir and orchestral concerts. The repertoire has a wide range - it ranges from the baroque operas at the Winter Festival in Schwetzingen to world premieres and modern and contemporary works in the Heidelberg Theater.

Small and large solo roles in opera productions are regularly performed by members of the opera choir.

The opera choir of the Heidelberg Theater and Orchestra consists of 23 singers. In large productions it is reinforced by the extra choir, which is made up of semi-professional singers.

There is also the children's and youth choir and the pre-choir, which encourages young singers.

The children's and youth choir can also be seen regularly in the theater's opera productions. Solo (children's) roles are also cast from his ranks, including the Three Boys in Mozart's “The Magic Flute”.
